A popular and award-winning piano teacher, Dr. Jean Park has been teaching piano since 2004, having previously maintained successful piano studios with waitlists in Seattle, New York City and San Antonio.  Jean has served as piano faculty at the University of Incarnate Word and San Antonio College for five years prior to moving to Cary, NC in summer of 2023.  While completing her doctorate in piano, Jean also previously taught college level private piano lessons as a teaching assistant at Stony Brook University from 2015-2016.

Through the years,  Jean's students have been recognized for their excellence. In 2009, Jean's student won second place at the Eastside Performing Arts Festival (piano competition in Seattle) in her first time entering. In 2013, Jean helped her student prepare for and successfully audition into the Manhattan School of Music precollege program. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, Jean's student was selected for the encore recital for the incentive program offered by the Piano Teachers Congress of New York. In 2015, Jean's student received second place in the NYSMTA competition and a performance at St. Stephan's Cathedral in Manhattan. In 2016, Jean's student received honorable mention in the NYSMTA competition. In San Antonio, Jean's students were given the highest ratings of Superior Plus in Achievement Auditions as well as selected as Judges Choice in 2021 and 2022. Her student also placed second place in the JK Hodges Piano Competition in 2022.​ Many of her other students have also received praise in adjudications and performances.

Active in her field as a piano teacher, Jean is a member of the Music Teachers National Association. She previously served as both secretary and a board member of the San Antonio Music Teacher's Association. Prior to that, Jean was a board member and member of the Piano Teachers Congress of New York when she lived in New York. Jean also chaired the Piano Teacher's Congress Honors Program,  a competition with a Carnegie Weill Recital Hall performance and cash prizes in 2014 and 2015.  In 2008, she received the Music Teacher's National Association's STAR Award, an award for excellence in academic achievement, successful teaching experience and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Jean has served as an adjudicator for many festivals and competitions such as Texas State University's Concerto and Aria Competition, Texas Music Teachers Association Student Affiliate Performance Contest, Texas Music Teachers Association San Antonio Regional Performance Contest, Janice Kay Hodges Contemporary Piano Competition, Playful Piano Competition, Junior League of San Antonio Funding Arts and Musical Education Award, SAMTA Achievement Auditions, Texas Federation of Music Clubs Piano Festival 6-1 and 6-3, ​MACSA Summer eFestival and Piano Teachers Congress Incentive Program.

Dr. Jean Park received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance at Stony Brook University, studying with Gilbert Kalish.  Prior to that, Jean received her Master's of Music degree in piano performance from Manhattan School of Music. Jean also completed double bachelor degrees from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Art's in music and Bachelor in Business Administration.
